Companies want to speed up efforts to make Dutch economy more sustainable

The Hague, 11 February 2010 – Today will see the official launch of De Groene Zaak, of which Peeze is a Founding Partner.
De Groene Zaak is a new collective of Dutch businesses with a common goal: speeding up the process of creating a sustainable Dutch economy. De Groene Zaak’s main focus is on politicians and government bodies. The foundation is striving for the amendment of rules and regulations in order to help entrepreneurs develop sustainable services and products more effectively. The new initiative now has a membership of over 30 companies of various sizes, with the number of members set to grow further in future. At nine o'clock today, State Secretary Frank Heemskerk of Economic Affairs will be presented with the first De Groene Zaak business card by chairman Roger van Boxtel in a symbolic ceremony.

De Groene Zaak is the only supra-sectoral organisation representing the concept of ‘sustainable Netherlands’. The foundation is thus complementary to existing organisations. It takes stock of bottlenecks and opportunities from all the various sectors. In addition to calling for a more rapid effort to make the economy sustainable, De Groene Zaak also actively contributes to this process. For example, the companies in its member base maintain a balance between financial and economic results, social interests and the environment. The coming months will see representatives of De Groene Zaak engage in active discussions with politicians, government policy makers and societal organisations.
