Quality labels
Peeze is entitled to feature various quality labels, such as the Max Havelaar, EKO and Kiem labels. So what exactly do these labels represent?
Max Havelaar quality label: Fair trade for small farmers
Stichting Max Havelaar is an independent organisation and does not purchase or sell any products itself. The Max Havelaar quality label for Fairtrade guarantees that products or raw materials were purchased on the basis of Fairtrade principles from cooperatives of small farmers and plantation workers in developing countries. This will allow them to further strengthen their organisation on their own, and improve their trading position on the international market.
EKO quality label
We have stocked a broad range of high-quality coffee bearing the Max Havelaar quality label and EKO quality label since 1993. The EKO quality label represents the use of organic production methods in the country of origin. It ensures that the coffee was grown using environmentally friendly methods that protect biodiversity and the local ecosystem. No chemical fertilisers or chemical synthetic pesticides are used.
All products with an EKO quality label feature a number next to or below the brand. This number is a unique code indicating which company produced products. The code for Peeze is Skal 001596. The numbers used in these codes are subject to permanent, stringent monitoring.
Kiem quality label
Our coffee cup is certified by means of the Kiem logo. This logo is featured on packaging made from biologically degradable materials. This biodegradable packaging can be deposited in the bin for organic waste.
